"Sitting on a Rainbow" was a wonderful read! I enjoyed the characters, the dialogues were terrific, and the scenes transported me to all the locations depicted in the amazing story. I'm going to set it aside for a brief time, then pick it up again for a re-read! Thank you Jim Rooney for this treasure! 

This debut novel is full of magic, Irish folklore and history, and romance all wound around experiences of disability and drama inside a high-stakes wealth management firm in West Palm Beach. James Patrick Rooney gives the reader a great yarn with intriguing characters and a fully-realized protagonist whose defeats and triumphs are attuned to an excellent soundtrack.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and could relate to the medical aspects. I found it very interesting and whimsical. A great read.

There were times when I just couldn’t put this book down. A cast of unique and fantastic characters enter, exit and haunt a storyline that is both surprising and inevitable.
Lessons of morality and heritage are lightened by the type of banter only the Irish can lay claim to.
If you’re of the mind, splash a bit of the amber liquid of the gods over an ice cube and read this book.

Sitting on a Rainbow keeps your mind spinning!!! I loved the intertwining incorporation of the playlists and quotes from famous authors, playwrights, poets and actors. The fantasy, fiction and educational aspects of the financial industry was done so skillfully. Jim Rooney's writing skill caused me to be right there with Patrick as his life forged ahead, always feeling like we were sitting on the rainbow!

As one who can personally relate to a great deal of the life scenes in James Rooney’s “Sitting on a Rainbow”, I can enthusiastically recommend this book! The writer weaves comedy, tragedy, and the ups & downs of real life passages throughout this highly entertaining read. While overcoming personal life changing events, Mr. Rooney humorously recreates the victories & defeats, office politics, mundane events, and “stand your ground” moments in life both inside and outside the world of the financial services industry. I especially enjoyed the Happy Hour stories from the famed watering holes of The Palm Beaches, many of which are interspersed with connections to the long lost music of the past century; from The Pogues to Cat Stevens, from The Chieftains to Jethro Tull and so many more…… all mixed in with a lot of Celtic Folklore and a bit of Irish blarney to boot!
Well done Mr. Rooney!

Loved this first novel by James Rooney. Full of interesting facts, intriguing fiction, twists and turns and life lessons that will keep you anxious to turn the page. I hope it’s the beginning of a new adventure for this wonderful writer. Congratulations James on the first of what I hope will be a long list of must reads on many book clubs lists!
